Now that the U.S. Senate has made it clear Donald Trump can commit any crime imaginable and get away with it, the president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, is once again back in business, trying to dig up dirt on anyone that might conceivably be the Democratic nominee and challenge Trump in November.

But thanks to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), we now know that the Attorney General of the United States, William Barr, is leading the charge when it comes to helping Trump try and steal the 2020 election.

During an appearance on “Face the Nation” Sunday, Graham told host Margaret Brennan that he had called Barr and been assured the Department of Justice (DOJ) will take any conspiracy theories or rumors Giuliani hears and “see if it’s verified.”

In other words, the attorney general will now be the tip of spear for Trump’s latest attempt to steal yet another election. If you doubt it, just consider exactly what Graham described to Brennan:

“(Barr) told me that they had created a process that Rudy could give information and they would see if it’s verified. Rudy Giuliani is a well-known man. He’s a crime fighter. He’s loyal to the president. He’s a good lawyer.

“What I’m trying to say to the president and anybody else, that the Russians are still up to it. Deterrence is not working, so let’s look at Hunter Biden’s conflict. Let’s look at Joe Biden.”

Translation: Yes, there is going to be a massive disinformation campaign against Joe and Hunter Biden, but it will carry the seal of the DOJ and William Barr. The AG will be able to open and announce that investigations are being conducted by the Justice Department in a coordinated effort with the White House to slag the candidate they fear most at this point, former Vice President Biden.

But make no mistake: If another candidate such as Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, or Michael Bloomberg suddenly looks like a solid front-runner who has a good chance of beating Trump, Barr and his DOJ will cook up lies to destroy that person, too. That’s what the president is demanding, and Barr intends to be a good Nazi for his tangerine Führer.

The United States has become a banana republic, where the leader of the country has every lever of government at his disposal to do his bidding, no matter how criminal or evil his orders may be.

We are living in dangerous times. Each of us must resist in our own way, and we must also refuse to surrender to the creeping fascism that is taking hold. And come November, we must vote in numbers so large that our voices will be heard across the world by every would-be tyrant, including the one that currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
