LISTEN To Donald Trump’s Profanity-Laced Thanksgiving Message From The Golf Course

Since taking office on January 20, 2017, Donald Trump has played golf some 300 times, according to Golf News Network, and the cost to American taxpayers has been enormous:

“The cost of Trump’s golf rounds to the American taxpayer varies by round and course, but it has totaled so far in the tens of millions of dollars. The Secret Service has spent at least $550,000 in third-party golf cart rentals and over $500,000 to stay overnight at Trump-owned properties, including his New Jersey country club.”

And on Thanksgiving Day 2020, Trump was once again playing golf at our expense. He didn’t address the American people or try to inspire the nation or thank us for all the money we’ve spent so he could live like a king over the past four years. Instead, he was hacking away and sending out a profanity-laced benediction to the country as the death rate from COVID-19 passed the 263,000 mark:

This is what we’re supposed to be thankful for? No wonder we’re all so on edge and pissed off.

It’s been clear since Trump became president that he doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself. And nothing has changed in that regard. Nothing will change in that regard in the time between now and January 20 of next year when Joe Biden takes the oath of office.

So what do we have to be thankful for in 2020? Actually, quite a lot. After all, 80 million American voters gave Trump his walking papers earlier this month and in the process saved our democracy. When you think about it, we were never guaranteed this good of an ending. But we managed to make our voices heard and boot a would-be dictator from the People’s House.

Yes, 2020 has been a shitty year, one that we’ll never forget. But it’s ending with the sort of final chapter that offers more hope and a hell of a lot less golf.
