President Donald Trump’s Republican allies in the U.S. Senate have made it very clear that they intend to go after Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President and Democratic front-runner Joe Biden, with Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) indicating he will issue subpoenas so he can look into Hunter Biden’s dealings with the Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma.
But while Trump and his Senate colleagues may be ready to harass the Biden family, a top adviser to former Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg let it be known that his boss is ready to go “scorched-earth” on the family of the president, too.
Tim O’Brien told MSNBC host Joy Reid that the Bloomberg team — which will be running millions of dollars worth of anti-Trump ads over the next several months — is poised to expose the questionable actions of the Trump children:
“The Trump family are epic grifters, and this goes back generations. Fred Trump made his money by intersecting with both the federal governmet and state governments in New York. Donald Came up through New York, intersecting with local government and Atlantic City. Now they are in the White House and all of them are dipping their faces into the till. And if the Republicans really want to make an issue out of Hunter Biden, which is very low-hanging fruit that I don’t think most Democratic voters care about anyway, there is going to be a scorched-earth response aimed at all of the Trump children that is unlike anything they have experienced in the media.”
Specifically, O’Brien added, will be a focus on the massive conflicts of interest between the Trump family, Trump Organization, and White House:
“I think it’s an important moment for the American people to be woke about how rampant the financial conflicts of interest are among Trump’s children, the president himself, their failure to distance themselves from the Trump Organization, the deals they’ve continued to pursue while in the White House, the Trump Hotel, which has a history between Jared and the Russian government and his family’s struggling finances at the time. All of this will become food for thought for everyone.”

A couple of months ago it was reported that Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner (who just so happens to be a senior adviser to the president) is selling his stake in a company that directly benefited from tax breaks Jared was instrumental in getting passed through Congress.
So while the Trump team may think they have a winning issue in Hunter Biden, they might want to consider their own dirty laundry, which is about to be on full view for all to see.
