When discussing or writing about Donald Trump, one often feels as if there simply aren’t enough words to describe the overwhelming revulsion and malaise he causes anytime he opens his giant piehole and starts saying something more offensive than the day before. Words like bully, jerk, moron, and arrogant jackass come to mind when one contemplates the Orange Menace.
And yet sometimes a person cuts through the clutter and manages to express, with just a few perfectly chosen words, how we’re all thinking and feeling. Someone like Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, who heard that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich had compared Trump to Harry Truman. McCaskill tweeted out:
For a history guy,you don't know much about Harry Truman. He'd call out Trump as a phony bloviating god damned fool. https://t.co/p8EXLfGvTl

If you know anything about former President Truman, then you know he was a blunt man who didn’t hesitate to speak his mind. I can just picture him taking one look at Donald Trump and saying exactly what Senator McCaskill did in her tweet. Hell, Truman might have even walked up to Trump and punched him in the face!
For Newt Gingrich–who is supposed to be an expert on history–to have the audacity to compare Trump to a man as great as the 33rd President is proof that Gingrich is just as stupid as we’ve always assumed. He likes to portray himself as an intellectual, but my dog has more brains than Gingrich.
The Trump campaign is in freefall, and each day brings more bad news of how Trump is behind in states–Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia–that have traditionally been friendly to Republican Presidential nominees. So if Gingrich and other Trump surrogates want to try and portray their candidate as a great man, they’re welcome to. But the American people aren’t buying it.
