Fiorina: ‘There’s A Double Standard’ Because No One Mocks Hillary’s Appearance

I’ve noticed something about Carly Fiorina: When she isn’t telling outrageous lies about Planned Parenthood or her “meeting” with Vladimir Putin while she was still at Hewlett-Packard, she likes to whine about how unfairly she’s being treated.

While on “Fox News Sunday,” Fiorina was asked by host John Roberts if there were two standards for Democratic women versus GOP women who run for office. He was specifically referring to remarks made by some on “The View” that Fiorina appeared “demented” because she forced herself to smile throughout the last Republican presidential debate. Roberts wondered:

“Is there a double standard here for Republican women? I can’t imagine that they would say things like that about Hillary Clinton.”

As you would expect, Carly took the bait and ran with it, remarking:

“Oh, ya think? Yeah, I think there’s a double standard…There is nothing more threatening to the liberal media in general and to Hillary Clinton in particular than a conservative woman. So, of course there’s a double standard. Conservative women from Sarah Palin to Michele Bachmann to Carly Fiorina are long used to this. It will not stop me, it will not scare me.”

It also won’t get you the GOP nomination for the White House, Ms. Fiorina, just as it didn’t get you elected to the Senate when you ran against Barbara Boxer in California, which is supposed to be your home turf.

Then Fiornia decided to take on the hosts of “The View,” calling them:

“Liberal feminists who believe that if you do not agree with them on their liberal orthodoxy that you don’t count, that somehow you’re not a woman.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Fiorina added:

“I also know that unless and until women’s potential is fully unlocked in this country — and women have been crushed under the Obama economy — that we will not be as good of a nation as we can be. And frankly, I am tired of being insulted by liberal feminists who talk about women’s issues when the reality is that every issue is a woman’s issue.”

Perhaps it’s time to lay the truth bomb on Carly Fiorina: The “liberal media” and the “liberal feminists” make fun of you, Sarah Palin, and other Republican women because you represent what is worst about the GOP: The hypocrisy that lies at the dark heart of conservatism. You say you’re all in favor of women’s issues and then try to take the most fundamental right of all–the right to choose–away. And that, in my book, means that you are deserving of the scorn you receive. Should it be personal or directed at your looks? No, certainly not.

But consider that on social media, the three most common words right wingers hurl at Hillary Clinton are “bitch”, “c*nt,” and “slut.”

So as to that double standard theory: It’s a crock of bull.
