Let’s state the facts right up front: We have determined that the chairman of the House Benghazi committee, Trey Gowdy, got his ass handed to him this week by Hillary Clinton. We’ve also come to realize that Gowdy tends to sweat a lot (a whole lot!) on his face when he gets worked up. Lastly, we’re still wondering, What is up with that head of his? It looks like a football or Stewie on “Family Guy.”
Now we can add massive hypocrite to the list of facts about Congressman Gowdy. Why? Because it turns out that he runs his own domain name from his own server. And yet he wanted to tar and feather Secretary Clinton for maintaining a private email server while she was at the State Department.
According to Alternet:
“Gowdy maintains his own domain treygowdy.com. For example, one campaign contact email he used was info@treygowdy.com. While it’s not unusual to maintain such a thing particularly for campaign work, it’s not clear that Gowdy utilizes this email solely for political campaign work and not congressional tasks.
“AlterNet asked Gowdy’s office through both a telephone inquiry followed up by an email communication to his press secretary about how he segregates work he conducts through his personal domain vs congressional work. We also inquired about where his personal email server is stored and how it is secured.
“We also attempted to contact Gowdy campaign manager George Ramsey, but he did not return our phone calls. In 48 hours, the deadline we set, we received no response.”
So, Congressman Gowdy, when do the hearings on your email server begin? What’s that? You don’t plan to hold any? Oh, I see: You have no problem looking like the biggest asshat hypocrite in Washington. One more question: Why does your head look like a football?
As it happens, Gowdy is not the only member of the House GOP who is using what seems to be a private email account for official business. Take a look at this business card from Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz, who has been busy in recent weeks attempting to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood:
Hmm…very interesting, wouldn’t you agree? I guess it’s fair to say that the GOP lives by the old maxim we’re all familiar with: Do as I say, not as I do.
Hey, Trey, you are so freaking busted, man!
