Missouri Lt. Governor: Eric Holder, Obama, Their ‘Minions’ More Racist Than Ferguson

Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder says the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, were unwarranted and “based on a lie,” and that he believes there is more racism in the U.S. Department of Justice than there ever has been in the St. Louis area of his state. Feel free to laugh uncontrollably at this point.

During an interview with a right wing media outlet Monday, Kinder decided to rub salt into the festering wound of Ferguson, adding this fuel to an already roaring fire:

“The whole blow up of this protest movement was based on the lie that never happened of hands up don’t shoot.”

This has now become the standard right wing talking point when it comes to the death of Michael Brown: Since Officer Darren Wilson wasn’t charged with a crime in the shooting of Brown, then all the other revelations in the Justice Department report–the systematic harassment of black motorists, the excessive court fines, the militarization of the police force–are invalid. It’s utterly fascinating to watch as a group of people engage in mass denial and self-delusion.

Kinder also declared that the Justice Department was the wrong agency to investigate Ferguson because, he claims, it is filled with “hard-left radical leftist lawyers.”

And yet, in the very next breath, the Republican Lt. Governor admitted that the DOJ report did identify what he called “legitimate grievances.” He then added the protests should stop, but gave no reason why:

“At some point the protesters need to give us a respite.”

Doesn’t the Constitution give those protesters the right to assemble, Mr. Kind

But Kinder wasn’t quite finished venting his spleen, and what he said about Attorney General Eric Holder proves just how out of touch he is:

“There is more racism in the Justice Department than anywhere I see in the St. Louis area. We’ve come an enormous way in 50 years, that’s not to say that we don’t have still more to do. It is the left, it is the Eric Holder and the Obama left and their minions that are obsessed with race while the rest of us are moving on beyond it.”

Sure, let’s just move on and pretend that it’s gonna be OK. Then we can all live in a permanent state of delusion that is virtually guaranteed to maintain the status quo in Missouri and across the nation.

Lt. Governor Kinder’s worldview is quite obviously “based on a lie.”
