Pat Robertson–‘Love Affairs Between Men And Animals Absolutely Will Be Permitted’

I know I shouldn’t be surprised by anything televangelist/huckster Pat Robertson says, but I have to admit what he declared on his show today made me do a double and triple-take.

According to Robertson, now that the Supreme Court has legalized same-sex marriage in the United States, the next step will be for the high court to give the OK to sex between humans and animals, and, eventually, between adults and children.

Yeah, he really said that.

Here’s the first part of Reverend Pat’s latest attempt to scare his viewers and drum up money for his so-called ministry:

“You watch what’s going to happen now. They’ve just said abortion is a constitutional right, they have said homosexuality is a constitutional right, they’ve said now homosexual marriage is a constitutional right. Watch what happens, love affairs between men and animals are going to be absolutely permitted. Polygamy, without question, is going to be permitted. And it will be called a right.”

This is the same old specious argument we’ve heard for years from those who are opposed to all adults–regardless of their sexual orientation–having the right to marry whoever they choose. It was wrong ten years ago, and it’s just as incorrect now.

Pat’s co-host Terry Meeuwsen then chimed in and said “relationships with children” would soon be legal in America, adding:

“There have been groups that have been trying to push that for a long time.”

Naturally, Robertson agreed wholeheartedly with Meeuwsen and said:

“Well, they’re going to succeed now. Because intellectually, you can’t get around these Supreme Court decisions. We are stuck with a fix doctrine of five old men on the Supreme Court. They’re not all old anymore.”

First of all, what does Pat Robertson know about anything involving what is “intellectually” possible? This man has made his career fighting against logical, rational thought, preferring to preach superstition, hate, and narrow-mindedness.

As for mentioning the age of the Justices, what does that have to do with anything? Pat, you’re 85 years old! And I have to say it might be time for you to retire. Of course, I know you won’t, because you’re not finished bilking senior citizens out of their money.

And you call that being a good Christian?

  1. You’d think he’d be embarrassed by now publicly talking about his personal night time fantasies.
