I have to admit that before today, I had never heard of Rick Wiles. I didn’t even know he existed. But something tells me I won’t be forgetting his name anytime soon, because on March 11 he let rip with one of the most patently absurd claims I’ve heard in a long, long time.
We all know that right wing extremists hate President Obama. Always have, always will. Rick Wiles, however, is convinced much darker forces are at work in the White House, and yesterday on his radio show, “Trunews,” Wiles asserted that the President created the terrorist group ISIS and will one day lead the caliphate they seek to establish. But Wiles was just getting warmed up. Wiles stated in his paranoid rant:
“I’ve told the truth about Barack Obama. I’m out of names to call him, I don’t know what else to call him. He’s wicked. He’s evil. He’s diabolical. He’s full of the devil. He’s demon-possessed. He’s Adolf Hitler reincarnated. He has inspired ISIS. He’s dreaming of leading a caliphate. He’s leading this world into world war. He’s provoking Putin. I don’t know what else to say about the man. You don’t think there’s not a target on my head?”
You mean the head that is devoid of any brain whatsoever, Rick? Also, if anyone is leading us into a world war, it’s gotta be people like you who are constantly telling us the end is near! Some of the people you most admire in government recently sent a treasonous letter to Iran. Wouldn’t you agree that was not an act of peace?
While he was at it, Wiles also accused former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Arizona Senator John McCain of also being in league with the Prince of Darkness:
“Their god is the Devil, they serve Lucifer, this is a Luciferian government and it’s causing bloodshed and violence all over the world, I really believe something is being set up for Barack Obama to become the head of an Islamic caliphate, he is setting up an Islamic NATO, he is setting up an alliance of Islamic nations, I think this guy has dream of being a leader of an Islamic caliphate.”
How does one adequately respond to this kind of paranoid delusion? What is causing bloodshed and violence all over the world is religious extremists who want to impose their version of God on everyone else, and anyone who disagrees is expendable.
The more I hear from people like Rick Wiles and the loons who preach his kind of hatred, the more I see that there isn’t a fraction of difference between them and ISIS. But this intolerant jerkweed is working his malignant ways from right here in America.
