There are mixed messages coming from Republicans loyal to President Donald Trump, and the confusion is serving to undercut Trump’s already specious claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
For example, during a Monday evening press conference, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel was asked if she believed the “irregularities” being claimed by the RNC would be enough to change the outcome of the election, to which McDaniel replied:
“No.”
Catching herself, McDaniel quickly added:
“We don’t know.”
The RNC chair then added:
“We intend to ensure that every lawful voter has their vote counted in accordance with the law.”
Asked about whether the “irregularities” alleged by the RNC and Trump campaign would change the election outcome, @GOPChairwoman says “Is it going to be enough? No.”…before promptly correcting herself and saying “we don’t know” and asking for more time.

Oops! It seems Ms McDaniel accidentally let the truth slip out, and then tried desperately to amend her statement so as not to piss off the notoriously thin-skinned Trump.
But the damage had already been done, as many noted on Twitter:
Accidentally tells the truth. Ronna better sleep with one eye open tonight!

“Look, we’re just trying to keep the base fired up for the Georgia runoffs. I MEAN – of course we won.”

Basically admitting this is just spoiler tactics to delay the transition and stoke up their lunatic base.

They are simply trying to prop up you-know-who, but in the process, they are inciting his followers to violence. This is awful.

Freudian slip, Romney?🤣

“we don’t know”, “we need more time”. Really what an absolute clown show.
Still no evidence or facts of irregularities. Starting to feel once Trump has enough funds from his legal defense fund to cover campaign debt, he conceeds.— DMoney269 (@Money269D) November 10, 2020
