Virginia Republican Senator: Pregnant Women Are Just ‘Hosts’

Attention, pregnant women across America! According to Steve Martin–no, not the “wild and crazy guy”–but Virginia State Senator Steve Martin, you’re just a host and therefore not entitled to decide what you do with your body.

In a reported posting on Facebook, which he said was in reply to a pro-choice mailing he received on Valentine’s Day, Martin had the audacity to write:

“You can count on me to never get in the way of you ‘preventing an unintentional pregnancy.’ I’m not actually sure what that means, because if it’s ‘unintentional’ you must have been trying to prevent it. And, I don’t expect to be in the room or will I do anything to prevent you from obtaining a contraceptive. However, once a child does exist in your womb, I’m not going to assume a right to kill it just because the child’s host (some refer to them as mothers) doesn’t want it.”

First of all, is it just me, or does calling a pregnant woman a “host” bring to mind images from the “Alien” movies? I just picture one of those metallic looking alien creatures popping out of a person’s chest while they’re in the middle of a meal. If you’ve seen the movies, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Gross!

It should also be noted that Senator Martin has also voted in favor of a mandatory ultrasound bill, and even supported a fetal personhood bill, which would ban all abortions and could even make some forms of contraception illegal. In other words, he’s an extremist who thinks men should impose restrictions on a woman’s reproductive rights even though men cannot bear children.

Martin also decided to really go off on a rant with another part of his posting. I can almost picture him foaming at the mouth as he wrote:

“What they really want is ‘safe,’ ‘legal abortions,’ anytime one might be desired. Such nonsense supposed adults have written, to celebrate love, on Valentine’s Day. These folks are really sick people.”

Yeah, right! At least they aren’t cretins like you who feel a need to control other people’s lives through intrusive legislation.

One last thing, Senator Martin: If you get your way, then we have to change Mother’s Day to Host Day, and I for one will not allow that to happen! So kindly crawl back in your cave and leave women alone. They don’t need your help making this, or any other, decision.

  1. Men who focus on what’s in a woman’s panties under a pious “concern for the unborn” have no excuse for their perverted interest after the child is no longer between a woman’s legs. They need to be on a sexual predator list. Also, women legislators need to counter this type of narrative with bills of their own: outlaw Viagra, mandate annual prostate exams, legislation regarding vasectomies. Get angry, ladies!

  2. The Trailer to the other Steve Martin’s new film “Invasion of the Fetus People”

Zombified Pregnant “Hosts,” – all “deer in the headlights” eyes pitiless as the sun, cigarettes with hanging ashes clinging tenuously to the sides of their parched blue-grey lips, shuffle dragging their slippers down Main Street through traffic lights at night as car horns object in futility. and police car lights twirl in confused observation. They are headed to the “Birthing Lake” but a mile out of town where Reverand Cletus Creeperson, of the local church, “Our Lady, that’s no Lady, that’s my Wife Snake Handling Assemblies of God Church, LLC will birth and Baptize the Brood, who will complete Gestation before swimming ashore and dispersal. Nyahhh haha Nyah haha …

  3. They believe a sperm contains a complete, unique human who was chosen by god to be part of his ‘Plan’ for the world.

  4. I think it’s time to ‘give’ this guy a tapeworm, a few Guinea worms, cancer, and some bacterial and viral diseases…REFUSE him any medical treatment, then see how HE feels about being an unwilling host.

    • Botfly larvae in his scrotum…..that would let him have a fraction of an idea of what it’s like to serve as an unwilling “host” to a giant parasite in his genitalia….except no one has ever died from hosting a Botfly. Women DO die from pregnancy and childbirth.
