Oklahoma Gun Nuts Paint Rainbow Flag On Target: ‘We’re Not The Brightest Crayons In The Box!’

I don’t have a problem with people exercising their Second Amendment rights and even having shooting competitions where they fire off their weapons. If that makes them feel more secure or masculine, or whatever good it does for them, then so be it.

But then I see bozos like these morons in Oklahoma who decided to paint the target they were aiming at the color of the LGBT rainbow flag, and I just shake my head and think: They’re too ignorant to have guns! Rescind their rights immediately!

These jerks even posted photos of themselves with the rainbow target on Facebook! A local TV station noted:

“Event organizers say they did not expect the response they got and that it was all meant as a joke. The Oklahoma Run ‘n Gun is a biathlon combining running and shooting. They’re promoting their upcoming race in Pawnee on July 18 on their Facebook page, but some are saying one post went too far.”

Just a joke, everyone! Nothing to see here. As I heard many times when I was growing up: That’s so funny I forgot to laugh.

The LGBT community in Oklahoma was rightly upset by the actions of the gun fetishists. Scott J. Hamilton, an LGBT rights advocate remarked:

“I think for many gay men and women in the state of Oklahoma, we feel as if we walk around as targets.”

Hamilton’s statement was echoed by Troy Stevenson, executive director of Freedom Oklahoma:

“You could definitely tell by reading the comments that they were trying to make a joke out of this. But once again, it was going way too far and offending a lot of people and it was very threatening language.”

The gun group later posted this message on Facebook after they began to get negative reaction from the public:

“Alright. I’ll admit. We’re not the brightest crayons in the box!”

Boy is that ever the understatement of the decade!
